A message from Council District 14:
Mayor Eric Garcetti recent update includes additional information on how the City will provide the necessary resources to Angelenos during the coronavirus pandemic. Working together, we will not only protect our most vulnerable communities but also help stop the spread of this virus!
ELDERLY MEALS: One of the most vulnerable communities is our elderly citizens. Senior Centers are now closed but will continue to provide packed and frozen meals. They ask that older adults send a family member, friend, or caregiver under the age of 65 to pick up the meals. Call your local meal provider or (213) 482-7252 for assistance.
LAUSD MEALS FOR CHILDREN: “Grab and Go Food Centers” will provide each child two nutritious meals a day. Starting tomorrow (3/18/2020), LAUSD and the Red Cross will open 60 Food Centers throughout Los Angeles and be open from 7am to 10am. Locations of the centers can be found at achieve.lausd.net/resources.
PARKING ENFORCEMENT: My office worked with @LADOTOfficial over the last few days to implement relaxed parking enforcement for street sweeping in CD14 and it is now expanded city wide. If you are unable to move your car during street sweeping you will not receive a ticket. In addition, there will be a moratorium on ticketing/towing for abandoned vehicles and overnight parking, freeze on parking fine increases for 60 days, extended grace period for people dropping off or picking up, and an immediate extension on all deadlines for payment until June 1.
